HYDERABAD: Taking strong exception to Seemandhra minister TG Venkatesh’s threat of setting up a force to protect Seemandhra people living in Hyderabad, TRS MLA T Harish Rao has urged the chief minister to remove Venkatesh from the ministry and the DGP to order registration of a case suo motu and arrest the minister.Addressing newsmen at the Assembly media point here on Saturday, Harish Rao warned that Seemandhra people would suffer if they provoked Telangana people on the statehood issue.“In fact their own leaders like TG Venkatesh and Lagadapati Rajagopal are the real enemies of Andhras living in Hyderabad. Kavuri, Rayapati, Mekapati, Lagadapati and others are opposing Telangana only to protect their properties here. The objectives of their struggle for Samaikyandhra are dubious. On the other hand, our (Telangana leaders) struggle is not for power but for people’s self-respect. Let us separate like brothers in a peaceful and democratic way. There is no going back on our resignations.”The TRS leader also lashed out at TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for directing his party leaders at Friday’s Politburo meeting to carry forward their respective struggles for Telangana and Samaikyandhra. Instead of criticising the TRS, Telangana TDP leaders should try to make Naidu agree to state’s bifurcation, he said.
