'He Married 4 Times, Was Living With 2 Wives': Hyderabad Woman Files Case Against Soldier Posted in Ladakh
The woman from Hyderabad claimed that her husband, Manish Kumar, an army soldier currently posted in Ladakh, has been married four times in the past 10 years

The wife of an army soldier, who is currently serving in Ladakh, has accused her husband of polygamy, alleging he has been married a total of four times. The woman, who hails from Hyderabad, filed a complaint in the office of SSP Vipin Tada in Meerut, following which an investigation has been launched.

The woman claimed that her husband, Manish Kumar, has been married four times in the past 10 years. Manish, a resident of Haryana, is currently posted in Ladakh.

According to the woman, she met Manish in Hyderabad in 2015 and they soon got married. Initially, everything seemed fine, but Manish’s behaviour changed over time. He began harassing her, she alleged. “When I got pregnant, Manish forced me to have an abortion and in 2018 he disappeared,” she said.

In 2019, the woman discovered that Manish had been posted to the 510 Army Base Workshop in Meerut and went to find him.

“When I inquired, I found out that Manish had already been married three times. When I confronted him and threatened legal action, he reportedly promised to leave his first wife and resumed living with me.”

The woman further stated “When my son was born in February 2021, Manish disappeared again. I searched for him extensively, and in August 2021, I got to know that he is living in Takshila Colony. When I reached there, he was living with two women, both of whom he had married. When I confronted Manish this time, he refused to come with me and now I am seeking justice, wandering door-to door-with my three-year-old son.”

Cases have been filed against the soldier for marriage fraud and other offences, including issuing death threats.

The woman also claimed that she initially lodged a report at Kankarkheda police station for deceit in marriage, and rape, but police filed a wrong case. According to her, the police did not mention Manish’s three marriages, prompting her to approach the SSP office for further action.
