THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 16th LA Fest, the inter-school arts festival organised by the sophomores of Loyola School, was held at Loyola Indoor Stadium the other day. It was inaugurated by the poet O N V Kurup. As many as 14 schools participated in the competition in a total of seven events that decided who would carry home the coveted Nataraja trophy. The events included ‘Harmony’ for the musically gifted, ‘Rock n’ Role’ for the skilled actors, ‘Enquesta’ for the intellectually inclined, ‘Block n’ Tangles’ for the linguistically proficient, ‘Dance o’ Mania’ for the graceful dancers and ‘La Persona’ for the all-rounders. The only off-stage event, ‘Shoot at Sight’, offered the shutterbugs a chance to capture on their camera the evanescent mood on the campus and freeze the colour and gaiety of celebration. At the end of the day, Holy Angels’ ISC emerged the overall winner, closely followed by Sarvodaya Central Vidyalaya. The chief guest of the concluding session, Stephen Devassy, gave away the prizes to the winners.
