Understanding of GodWe all know who God is, don’t we? For me, God is the creator and is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent and benevolent. I believe God is in everything around me. The work I do, I believe, is my God. I worship my work and am dedicated towards it.Spiritual beliefSpiritual belief is not something which is developed instantly. It takes form based on the way you are brought up in your family. It has great impact on your spiritual belief. A poem by Kabir Das, which I read in my school days, has had an impact on me. It goes something like this: Dukh me sumiran sab kare, sukh me kare na koi, Jo sukh me sumiran kare, dukh kahe ko hoi.It means “We all remember God when we are beset by grief; none of us remember Him during our good times. Had we remembered Him in our good times, why would there be days of grief?”Spiritual practicesI like to visit temples on special occasions and whenever I am happy. I do this although I believe God is everywhere and can be worshipped anytime.MiraclesI don’t believe in miracles. I believe that what happens, happens because of what one has or has not done. God has made man and has given him the strength to achieve what ever God wants. MeditationMeditation is something which helps us train our minds. It helps one to focus on the challenges of life and to face them in a structured manner. Meditation also helps one have peace of mind. Pilgrimage spots The Balaji temple in Tirupati is my favorite pilgrimage spot and I make it a point to visit the place once a year. The Vaishno Devi temple is my dream pilgrimage spot and I would like to visit it soon. (Gorav Gupta is a chartered accountant and director of AccSource KPO Private Limited.
