New Delhi: Around 15 former Army chiefs, Foreign Secretaries, Home Secretaries and Intelligence Bureau and RAW chiefs will issue a joint statement on Friday on national security issues. They claimed that there was a crisis on the Indian border that the government was not addressing.

Recently, five Indian soldiers were killed by the Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The Army suspected that the Musa Company of the SSG may have been behind the ambush. It is specially trained for combat in riverine areas. The January beheading of Hemraj in Mendhar was apparently the work of SSG commandos aided and assisted by militants.

Last month, Chinese troops had infiltrated into the Indian territory in Ladakh and broke a camera set up by the Indian Army at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). These cameras were of high resolution and had been put up by the Indian soldiers to keep an eye on Chinese soldiers. The Chinese troops had also demolished the temporary structures built by the Indian Army and threatened the Indians living in area to evacuate the place immediately.
