Lucknow: As the Ram Mandir issue comes abuzz ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said ideally Ram Mandir should be built after consent from all the sides.
While speaking at a function, in Lucknow, held to felicitate people jailed during the Emergency, Naqvi said, “Nobody should have objection over the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, but it would be an ideal situation if Ram Mandir is constructed after consent from all the sides.”
He added, “The Ram Mandir would be built in Ayodhya after following due constitutional procedures. I don’t want to comment on who is saying what. I hope the decision in this regard comes soon from the Honourable Court.”
Taking a dig at the president of AIMIM, Asaduddin Owaisi, he said, “The efforts to win elections by spitting venom have already begun, people like Owaisi are known for their venomous statements. No part of our society accepts remarks by such leaders in any form.”
On Monday, CM Yogi Adityanath, on the 80th birthday celebrations of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, Chairman of Ram Janma Bhoomi Nyas, said: “Maryada Purshottom Ram is the lord of the universe, whenever it will be his will, Ram Mandir will be built in Ayodhya. There is absolutely no doubt and even saints should not have any doubt. You have waited for so long, I think you should be a little more patient.”
Ram Vilas Vedanti, senior Nyas member, claimed the construction of the Ram Temple could start any time before 2019. “The way the disputed site was demolished, the construction of Ram Mandir can also start anytime. The way no permission was taken to demolish the Mosque, no permission will be taken to construct the Ram Mandir,” he said.
