BANGALORE: Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University Dr N Prabhu Dev has clarified that he can be the chairman of Board of Governors (BoG) of University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) as per the rules. However, the chairman of the BOG for Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) should be an outsider. Accordingly, he invited Chairman Emeritus of Infosys N R Narayana Murthy to head the board through an open letter. Reacting to a news report in which a professor was quoted: “Is the VC expecting Murthy to read his open letter and stand in front of him the next day”, he said that he would place the offer before Murthy in person.
