New Delhi: The Indian men's team warmed up nicely for the Commonwealth Games hockey competition with another comfortable 3-1 win against fancied England in a practice game at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium here.

Although not much can be read into the result, the focus was on assessing the fitness levels of the players and assistant coach Harendra Singh said the Indian team was able to sustain "good pace" through the two halves of 50 minutes each on Tuesday.

Penalty corner specialist Sandeep Singh came up with two conversions and looked to be in good touch while striker Tushar Khandekar struck the other goal for India.

"It was a good game and I am pleased at the overall fitness of our players. The pace was good too and I am confident of a good performance," said Harendra.

The Indians had beaten England, semi-finalists at the 2010 World Cup at the same venue, 3-1 in the first practice game on Monday and the two will clash again on Wednesday night.
