New Delhi: The beheading of two Sikhs by Taliban will be taken up by India with Pakistan when the Foreign Secretary of the two countries meet on February 25.
"It is shocking. The Indian population in Pakistan is sad about. Hope Pakistan government will take appropriate action. We will be taking this up in Foreign Secretary talks," said Defence Minister AK Antony on Tuesday.
Antony's remarks came even as Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi condemned the beheading and said his government would take all measures to ensure safety and security of the minority community.
"We are equally concerned. We condemn that strongly. They (militants) are inhuman. They have (make) no distinction between individuals, ethnicities or religions regardless," Qureshi was quoted as saying by PTI.
Meanwhile, Pakistani authorities also cut short the visit of Indian pilgrims to Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasanabdal city of Punjab province due to the security situation.
Pakistani media reported that the visit of the Sikhs was shortened from three days to one day due to the security situation.
Two Sikhs who were kidnapped for ransom were found beheaded by the Pakistani Taliban in the country's restive tribal belt on Sunday. Some more members of the minority community are still in the custody of the Taliban.
