Indian national executed in Kuwait

Dubai: An Indian national was on Tuesday hanged to death in Kuwait for killing his employer in 2003.

Shakrullah Ansari, who is in his early 20s and hails from Uttar Pradesh, was hanged after his mercy petition was rejected by the ruler of Kuwait.

He was sentenced to death by a local court for killing his employer.

While claiming that Ansari had admitted his guilt and had not filed a mercy petition, Ministry of External Affairs sources said, "We cannot do anything in this case".

"We are making arrangements to bring back his body," the MEA sources added.

Ansari has complained to the Indian Embassy three years ago that he was being harassed by his employer who used to beat him and often did not give him any food, sources in the mission said.

Ansari, according to the prosecution, had killed the employer in 2003.
