Indira Jaising's Lawyers Collective gets MHA notice for FCRA violation
The Home Ministry has given 30 days time to the Lawyers Collective to reply to the FCRA violation notice.

New Delhi: Former additional solicitor general Indira Jaising's human rights firm Lawyers Collective has received a notice from the Ministry of Home Affairs for alleged violation of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

The Home Ministry has given 30 days time to the Lawyers Collective to reply to the notice.

According to sources, the Lawyers Collective received foreign funds when Jaising held a government position as additional solicitor general. It is alleged that the organisations used the foreign funds for organising political events that violate FCRA guidelines.

In 2015, the government had pulled up Greenpeace for violating FCRA guidelines. Greenpeace had cried witch hunt after the crackdown by the government.
