An 18-year-old girl committed suicide by setting herself ablaze in Juloor village of Bhoodhan Pochampally mandal on Thursday night. According to the police, S Vijayalakshmi (18) was a second year Intermediate student of Government Junior College, Bhoodhan Pochampally.
She was reportedly in love with P Balakrishna, a second year degree student belonging to the same village. On Thursday, Balakrishna visited Vijayalakshmi at her house when her parents were away and abused her over some issue.After he left, the girl committed suicide by setting herself ablaze. The locals, however, doused the flames and rushed her to the nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
Her irate parents and relatives staged a dharna with the body in front of Balakrishna’s house demanding his arrest and later filed a complaint with the Bhoodhan Pochampally police. The Police have initiated an investigation. Another Jumps Before Running Train
Tirupati: A first year intermediate girl student of Tummalagunta Centre of the Sri Chaitanya junior college committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train near Sree Padmavathi degree college, here on Friday.
Primary inquiries revealed that, the deceased, S Bhuvaneswari from Tirupati, was reluctant to stay in the college hostel and also the girl’s parents had apparently also scolded her for getting scoring low in an internal exam.
