Citing the findings of National Health Survey which has found the problem of anemia rampant among children in Uttarakhand, Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar said 8,49,000 identified children will be given IFA tablets at their schools every Monday to combat the deficiency.
An instruction to this effect was issued to officials concerned by Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar at a meeting on Wedesday, an official release said.
To be conducted jointly by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Education Department, the programme will be implemented at all government-run schools.
