Isai Sangam 2011 winners

CHENNAI: The Tamil Isai Sangam has chosen Padmashri Kalaimamani Sudha Raghunathan for its annual Isai Peraringnar award andKalaimamani Thiruttani N Swaminathan for its Pann Isai Peraringnar award, for 2011.  The awards would be presented on December 21,  2011 at the inaugural function of the Sangam’s 69th annual music festival at Rajah Annamalai Mandram. Renowned Tamil Poet Vaali will present the awards, that include a citation, a gold medallion, a robe of honour and `10,000 each.A foremost disciple of Dr ML Vasanthakumari,  Sudha Raghunathan is a decorated artist, popular with both the critics and the audiences. Awards that have been conferred on her have come from the State and Central Governments, National arts institutions and from several top-ranking music forums globally.
