Jail inmates await challenging arrival

BANGALORE: The inmates of Parappana Agrahara central prison eagerly awaited the arrival of actor Darshan, who was remanded in judicial custody on Friday.However, they did not get a chance to have a glimpse of the actor.A jail official said that the inmates, who learnt of the actor being remanded to judicial custody on charges of harassing his wife, wanted to see him and gathered at the entry gate.“There are many hardcore fans of Darshan.Some of them are even inspired by his films.So they at any cost, wanted to have a look at him.But we did not want to take any risk.We locked them in their respective barracks and only after that the actor was brought inside.The inmates were upset over the decision, but it was inevitable to take this action as he is a celebrity,” the official added.Darshan CollapsesThe official also informed that the actor, who alighted the police jeep, collapsed due to lack of energy.“The police said the actor had not eaten anything since morning and could have fallen due to fatigue.However, he was taken to the jail hospital where he was administered intravenous glucose. However, he kept mum for a long time after he entered the jail,” the official added.What the Complaint Says In her complaint to the police, Vijayalakshmi has stated that all was not well between the couple since 2008.“When I had accompanied Darshan to Switzerland for the shooting of Porki, he was behaving in an objectionable way with foreign female dancers.When I questioned him about that, he had threatened me of pushing me out of the window of the room at the hotel where we stayed.I was pregnant during that time,” she stated in her complaint.She has also mentioned that Darshan was moving very closely with actress Nikitha and gave no clear answer when she enquired him about their affair which had upset her from many days.“In a compromise meeting held at Nagaraj’s house, Darshan in front of Ambarish asked Nagaraj to send his wife out and he would shoot her down with his pistol.Raged by his behaviour, Ambarish scolded Darshan and dragged him out of the house. It was then Vijayalakshmi decided to file complaint,” the source added.
