New Delhi: Just a few days after Mumbai daily, Mid-day reported that Rahul Mahajan used to regularly beat up his wife, Shweta Singh is facing turbulence on the professional front.
According to the Times of India, Shweta - a pilot with Jet Airways - has been barred from flight duties for allegedly violating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety norms on a Delhi-Hyderabad flight on November 16.
The Times of India reported that Shweta, who was commanding the flight 9W-825 on the Delhi-Hyderabad route, deployed speed brakes and improper wing flap position at landing.
The airlines deemed this as a high accident-value incident and Shweta and her co-pilot have been grounded by the Director General of Civil Aviation till further investigation.
According to the daily, Shweta has been de-rostered and taken off flight-duty by Jet, until further notice.
Shweta, however, says that she had a cold and was not well enough to fly that day.
Rahul Mahajan, son of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, and his wife Shweta were in the news recently after it was reported that his two-and-half month marriage was on the rocks after allegations of his relentless physical and verbal abuse.
As per Mid-day's report, Rahul had beaten up Shweta 10 days ago and she was left with a cut on the lip, a bruised arm, and a sore back.
However, both Rahul and Shweta have strongly denied the charge.
