Jharkhand Assembly elections: We expect better infrastructure in Ranchi, say IIM students
The faculty have working spouses and they would look for an equal opportunity which could be provided in a 1 tier city," said an IIM student.

Ranchi: Ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, CNN-IBN spoke to some IIM students who voiced the need for a change and talked about the problems prevalent in Ranchi.

An IIM Ranchi student lamented the lack of infrastructure in the Jharkhand capital. "When I came to Ranchi, the infrastructure was not like a state capital and looked like some backward 3 tier city. We expect better infrastructure in terms of better roads, commercial activities and industries as well," said the student.

Another IIM student complained about not being given a permanent campus and how it affected their day to day classes and faculty meetings. "We spend a lot of time commuting. If we could cut down on that it would give students alot more time to study," said the student.

A student voiced his concern about the lack of permanent faculties. "Because of less opportunities available in Ranchi, not many people like to settle here permanently. Most of the faculty have working spouses and they would look for an equal opportunity which could be provided in a 1 tier city," said an IIM student while speaking to CNN-IBN.
