Srinagar: One army jawan and a terrorist have been killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Ladoora village in Rafiabad in Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir. The firing started at around 7:20 AM on Wednesday.
Two terrorists are believed to have been engaged in the gunbattle. The terrorists are said to be associated with terror group - Lashkar-e-Islam - the outfit that recently targeted cellphone operators in the valley. The area has been cordoned off.
Terrorist Riyaz Ahmad was killed in the encounter.
Rafiabad is the same area from where the security personnel had captured second Pakistan terrorist Sajjad Hussain alive on August 28.
Sajjad was captured on August 28 following an overnight encounter near the Line of Control (LoC).
