J&K DIG's son boasts of power, posts pictures of man tying his father's shoe laces on social media

Srinagar: In an embarrassment for a top policeman in Jammu and Kashmir, photographs showing abuse of power by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in Jammu have gone viral. The photographs were posted by the DIG's son on social media.

The photographs include one of a man helping DIG Shakeel Beig put on his shoes. In another photograph, an armed security man is acting as the caddie while the DIG's son is playing golf.

A third picture shows a man holding an umbrella for DIG Beig. Angry citizens on the social media have called it a shameful abuse of power.

DIG Shakeel Beig could not be contacted for a comment.

Reacting to the incident, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi said, "It is these officers that keep down the forces. I'm glad that this has come out. The government should step in."
