BANGALORE: A group of 25 children from six primary and high schools along with their teachers from Naushera Tehsil, Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir are in the city as part of a national integration tour from Kashmir to South India under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ programme organised by the 33 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army. Students visited the Headquarters of Karnataka and Kerala Sub-Area and met Major General A K Pradhan, General Officer Commanding of Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area of the Indian Army. They also visited Madras Engineer Group and Centre and ASC Centre and College. They will be visiting various tourist places in Bangalore and Mysore for five days. The tour is part of the Indian Army’s efforts to provide an exposure to school children from remote border regions of Kashmir. The aim of the tour is to broaden the horizons of the young children by showcasing many facets of Southern India which would widen their understanding of national integration and motivate them to pursue higher studies and contribute towards building a strong, democratic modern India.
