Bangalore: Kannada actor Darshan, who was granted conditional bail by the Karnataka High Court last week after his arrest on charges of attempt to murder his wife, was counselled by Justice B V Pinto in his chamber Friday.

Darshan, accompanied by wife Vijayalakshmi, arrived at the court premises amidst tight police security at 2:30 pm and was closetted in Justice Pinto's chamber for half an hour.

"Justice Pinto advised Darshan to be careful about his conduct since being an actor and a celebrity, he is always in the public eye and any wrong behaviour on his part could send a wrong message to the public," Special Public Prosecutor HS Chandramouli told PTI.

Justice Pinto imposed conditions on the actor that no member of his family should interfere in the relations between him and his wife and he should not hamper the trial or tamper with any of the witnesses.

The court also made it clear that in case of any such complaints or offences by him, the court has all the liberty to cancel his bail. The couple later thanked the judge for his reconciliatory efforts and Darshan assured the judge he would look after his wife well.

Defence Counsel S K Venkat Reddy was also present during the counselling. Darshan, who spent 28 days in judicial custody after he was remanded following his arrest on September 9 after his wife lodged a police complaint, based on which the charge of attempt to murder was slapped on him, was granted conditional bail on October 7.

Justice Pinto, who granted the bail, had directed Darshan and his wife to be present in his chambers on October 13.
