Kerala: Group of 20 women dig 100 wells in drought-hit Malappuram district
With this daunting effort the drinking water crisis has been put an end to the in the region.

Thiruvananthapuram: After seeing the plight of villagers during drought situations a group of women in Kerala decided to help them by digging water wells. A 20-member group of women have dig over 100 wells in their village.

These women are of Kalikavu village near Manjeeri in Malappuram district of Kerala.

With this daunting effort the drinking water crisis has been put an end to the in the region.

The group charged around Rs 20,000 for digging one well and one full day to complete the task. The group's final target is to make their entire village a drought free one.
