Keralites firms hit, 7 arrested

PUDUCHERRY: Seven Naam Thamizhar Iyakkam activists, including a woman, were arrested on Friday over attacks on commercial firms run by Keralites in the Union Territory.They were identified by the police with the help of CCTV footages captured at the bakeries and finance firms which came under attack on Thursday.Superintendent of Police (North) N T Sivadasan said the arrested persons had confessed to their involvement in the attacks.PMK stages demoMeanwhile, the local unit of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) staged a demonstration demanding the implementation of the Supreme Court (SC) order to raise the storage level at the Mullaiperiyar dam.
