All is definitely not quiet on the Western front. Everyone in Germany has eyes on Jurgen Klinsmann's World Cup base in Base as the hosts prepare for a thriller against Argentina on Friday.

It's by far the biggest match of the World cup so far. Germany, the three time world champions, against the South Americans, winners in 1978 and 1986.

"They should have respect for us as well. We know their strength and weakness. We have watched their video, but we should not under rate them. But I think we can beat them," says Lukas Podolski, the German striker.

Skipper Michael Ballack and hit-man Miroslav Klose are back after injury scares and are expected to start. Germany have been simply unstoppable in their matches so far, thanks to a fantastic midfield orchestrated by Ballack.

He supplies those precise passes to the strike pair of Klose and Lukas Podolski. Klose is the leading contender for the Golden Boot with four goals while Podolski has struck thrice in the last two matches.

And one mustn't forget Lahm's long-range strikes.

"We have a few nerves but we know how important it is to win the game on Friday. That is our top priority. We know that Argentina has a very strong team. But as I said it is bad luck for them to face us on Friday. We want to go through and therefore we have to beat Argentina," says Miroslav Klose.

The only place where Germany look shaky is their defence. The back four have had uneasy moments against the likes of Costa Rica and Sweden.

Argentina have the arsenal to cause a breach, but it remains to be seen if they have the reserve to halt the German blitzkrieg.

What's your reaction?
