KWA refutes reports

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Water Authority (KWA) management has refuted media reports that the department-level promotion to the post of Divisional Accountants (DAs) was being planned violating the norms pertaining to the same. A statement to this effect was issued here by the KWA Managing Director on Wednesday.The KWA had 54 sanctioned the post of DAs in KWA and 16 vacancies have been reported this year. As per the Administrative Service and Ministerial Service Rules, the appointment to the post by transfer and direct recruitment shall be in the ratio of 2:1. It has been reported that appointment was being made to the post violating the Rules.    However, the statement issued by the MD clarified that the promotion was being done as a temporary arrangement for the smooth functioning of the Authority.  Once the advice memo is given as per the PSC ranklist, the employees have agreed to go back to the post of junior superintendent.The KWA had already sought the advice of the PSC in appointing DAs to the 16 vacancies.
