CHENNAI: The DMK has convened a high-level meeting on March 20 to discuss the resolution moved against Sri Lanka at United Nations Human Rights Council.K Anbalagan, general secretary of the party, in a release said that the meeting would be held at Anna Arivalayam in the city.It was convened at a time when all the political parties, including AIADMK got united to demand the Centre to support the resolution considering the humanitarian crisis in the island nation.Karunanidhi wrote a couple of letters in this regard to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.The PM had categorically said that India would work towards a “forward-looking” solution to the ongoing issue, in a reply to Karunanidhi.External Affairs Minister SM Krishna had announced in the Parliament that India’s tradition was not to support any of the country-specific resolutions thus far.At the general council of the party last month, demands to snap ties with Congress was in high-pitch. Therefore, the high-level meet is sure to make some noise in Delhi.
