Leander ready to partner Bhupathi
With the Beijing Olympics coming up the big concern for everyone is how will Bhupathi fit into the scheme of thing?

Mumbai: With his seventh Grand Slam win Leander Paes looks like he is back to winning ways.

Leander has returned home just in time to take part in the Mumbai Open doubles event partnering Pakistan's Asiam Qureshi.

He seems to have found his rhythm partnering Martin Damm and fresh from his win at Flushing Meadows the Indian top seed looked very pleased with the way things were going.

"It was a beautifully feeling with him. We got to the finals of the Australian Open earlier and were very unlucky not to win there. We worked very hard and right now we in the top five," Paes says on winning the US Open with Damm.

The duo have also qualified for the Masters taking place at the end of the year.

But the event that tennis lovers will be waiting for is the mixed doubles at the Asian Games in Doha beginning in December.

They will be witnessing India's two top seeds playing together -- Leander Paes and Sania Mirza.

"Sania and myself have a history in partnership. We got a bronze medal at the last Asian Games in Busan. So there is some history. She is playing well and got into the final at Kolkata," Paes says.

But with the Beijing Olympics coming up the big concern for everyone is how will Mahesh Bhupathi fit into the scheme of things.

It has been a long time since Bhupathi and Paes played alongside each other. So will the two get ready in time for the big one in 2008 and play for India together again?

"Mahesh and myself have eight years of history behind us. We know each other inside out. Our games fit hand in gloves. It doesn't take much to play well together. Our Davis Cup record is there for all to see. As we get closer to the Asian Games this December and the Beijing Olympics we will get a lot of practice in," he says.
