A 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and stoned to death by the accused in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district, said the police on Monday, September 9.
Reports claimed that the accused entered the victim’s house when she was alone and took her outside. After allegedly raping the minor girl, he stoned her to death, claimed sources. The incident unfolded in Jalgaon’s Chopda town, said police.
Chopda City Police Inspector Madhukar Salve said that the accused have been arrested and an investigation into the matter has been launched.
“A case of murder of a 13-year-old girl has come to light. We have arrested the accused. The girl was stoned to death by the accused. We are investigating further,” Salve said.
Following the incident, a massive protest hit the Jalgaon streets as the demonstrators demanded stringent action against the accused. Women in large numbers gathered to demand justice for the victim, showed visuals.
