Major kids contest on the anvil

KOCHI: ‘Jamboree 2011’ an inter school kids contest will be held on September 30 and October 1 in C E Xavier Hall, Thoppumpady. The programme hosted and sponsored by St Mark’s School, Fort Cochin will be a large festive gathering for kindergarten children. It is open to schools in Ernakulam district. It will be a platform for the kids to showcase their talents and to get greater exposure. Competitions like action song, group song, speech, painting, story-telling, general knowledge and so on will be the main highlight. The competitions are held for juniors (aged between 2 to 4 years) and seniors (aged between 4 to 6 years). For group competitions a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 members should be there. The subject for speech for seniors is ‘My Best Friend’ in English and ‘Ende Veedu’ in Malayalam. Categories for Baby King and Queen contest shall be 0-2 years, 2 to 4 years and 4 to 6 years. The competition was held last year where 46 schools participated. This year as a community programme Jamboree is also sponsoring two children to the zip abacus programme. Corporates along with youths of the community are also involved with the programme. All the participants will get certificates and complimentary gifts. There will be magicians and clowns to entertain children.
