Maldives citizen arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pettah Police have arrested a Maldives citizen who had been illegally residing in the state.  Jameel, 59, was arrested from Venpalavattom after Pettah Police got a tip off that a Maldives citizen was staying at a rented house without furnishing the required documents in this regard with the City Police Commissioner.   Police said that the person had been residing in the city since December 2. The arrest was made under the Foreigners Act and he was remanded.
