THOOTHUKUDI: Salem: In a bizarre incident at Omalur on Tuesday, a man banged his forty-day-old male infant on the floor causing its death.Police said, L Jegadeeswaran (25) a daily wage worker, married Vanitha (21) of the same village nine months back. The couple were living in the girl’s house. Jegedeswaran, soon after marriage, frequently quarrelled with his wife. On Tuesday also, after a fight Jegadeeswaran took the baby with him to his parents’ house and returned in the night. Again an argument erupted and in a fit of rage, Jegadeeswaran banged the child against the floor. The baby, which bled profusely, was rushed to the Salem GH where it died on Wednesday. Jegedeeswaran was arrested on Wednesday.
