HYDERABAD: A good quantity of cocaine being brought from Mumbai in a flight by concealing the contraband in an empty fruit juice bottle was seized by Task Force sleuths on Tuesday. A Mumbaibased boutique shop owner was arrested in the incident. According to Task Force DCP Ch Ramchander, Shaik Jaweed of Jogeswari West came to city in a flight with 40 gm cocaine and was staying in a hotel at Punjagutta. "Jaweed stuffed the cocaine in an empty fruit juice bottle, kept them in the baggage and concealed it with clothes," sources said.
On a tipoff, police officials nabbed Jaweed near a mall near City Central, Banjara Hills and 40 gm of cocaine worth over `1.5 lakh was seized. He was in search of customers since the past two days after his arrival. Police said Jaweed went to Kuwait in 2002 and worked as a data entry operator for six years. He returned to Mumbai four years ago and started running a boutique at Bandra.During his stay in Dubai, he came in contact with Parvez. "Both of them used to visit pubs in Mumbai and Jaweed got addicted to drugs. Through Parvez, he started purchasing cocaine from a Nigerian and sell the same to others at a higher price," Ramchander said.
