Methodology: How the survey was done
The findings of the Uttarakhand exit poll are based on a sample of 4,282 voters.

New Delhi: The findings of the Uttarakhand Exit Poll are based on a sample of 4,282 voters randomly selected from 96 location of 32 Assembly constituencies in the state.

The sample of polling booths (locations) and Assembly constituencies were randomly selected using the simple circular sampling method.

The fieldwork of the survey was conducted by investigators from HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar Garhwal and OKSD Institute of Management Technology, Rishikesh.

The investigators were specially trained in a day-long workshop about techniques of sample selection and conducting interviews.

The sample of respondents included 67 per cent men, 72 per cent rural, 84 per cent. Hindus, 11 per cent Muslims and 15 per cent Dalits.

The central team which designed and analysed the data included, Yogendra Yadav, Sanjay Kumar, Praveen Rai, Himanshu Bhattacharya, Kanchan Malhotra, KA QA Hilal, Vikas Gautam, Sanjeer Alam, Banasmita Bora, Kinjal Sampat, Reetika Syal, Deepa Khaka and Balaji Madiq of CSDS and Ravjeeva L Karandikar of Cranes Software International Limited, Bangalore.

The fieldwork of the survey was coordinated by Annpurna Nautiyal of Garhwal University, Srinagar Garhwal and Aditya Gautam of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun.
