A youth, who had been absconding after a case was registered against him on charges of molesting a minor girl of Vizhinjam by luring her in the name of marriage, was arrested by the police the other day.
Shameem, 23, a native of Athiyannoor, near Balaramapuram, was arrested on a complaint filed by a 16-year-old girl.
Shameem was held by the Karunagappally police the other day and handed over to the Vizhinjam police on Monday.
According to the police, he molested the girl after making a false promise of marriage.
He was later remanded to police custody.
