Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday approved its 'e-mail policy 2014' to give legal sanctity to such correspondences within departments and with the people.
MP has become the first state in the country to approve such a policy, an official statement said in Bhopal. The 'e-mail policy 2014' was approved by the state Cabinet at its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Bhopal on Wednesday, official sources said.
The aim of the policy is to accord legal sanctity to the correspondence and data exchanged through such medium so that precious time of the government and people is saved, the sources said.
The facility will be provided free of cost to all the departments, constitutional and autonomous bodies that draw funds from the consolidated fund of the state for carrying out its activities, they said. Now the e-mail based communication in the state will be treated as valid in law, sources added.
