Modi lauded the Madame Tussauds team, saying they are 'exceptional' at what they do.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi got a glimpse of his wax figure before it was taken to London to take up residence at the Madame Tussauds there.

Modi was brought face-to-face with the statue at his residence on Monday as he could not make it to London for its unveiling on April 28.

A video released by Madame Tussauds showed Modi posing with the wax figure and praising the team for their 'exceptional' work.

“What can I say? As far as art is concerned, the Madame Tussauds team is exceptional at what they do," said Modi. “What Lord Brahma does normally is what the artists there are doing. Today, I had an opportunity as the prime servant of my people to meet my wax figure."

The figure was dressed in his signature kurta in cream with jacket and featured in a traditional pose making a namaste gesture.

Modi was involved in the creation of his figure and gave Madame Tussauds' artists a sitting in New Delhi earlier in 2016.

Three other Modi wax figures took up residence at Madame Tussauds in Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok from Wednesday.

Other global leaders whose wax statues are at Madame Tussauds are US President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, South Africal anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela and many more.

Even Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif's wax statues are at Madame Tussauds.

Each figure took a team of artists four months and cost around Hongkong $1.8 million to create.
