HOSADURGA: Sending clear signals of acting cautiously, CM D V Sadananda Gowda on Wednesday said, no hasty decisions will be taken on banning Maharastra Ekikaran Samithi (MES) as demanded by various Kannada organisations.Speaking to reporters on his arrival to attend the valedictory function of national theatre festival at Sanehalli, he admitted the increased hooliganism of MES and said they are unpardonable. He said, before initiating any action the acts should be perused from all angles and it is not an easy task to ban the organisation. Gowda said, “The government has to consider various aspects before initiating any action against MES, recollecting the support of Marathas during the World Kannada Meet held in Belgaum this March. Replying to a question the CM said, “The government has issued notices to the mayor and the deputy mayor of Belgaum for their alleged remarks against Karnataka during the Kannada Rajyotsava.” On the question of appointment of Lokayukta especially after objections raised against Justice S R Bannurmutt whose name has been cleared by the state government and a recommendation sent to Governor Bhardwaj, CM said his name has been cleared by a panel and hoped for a favourable decision by the Governor.Admitting that there was prima facie evidence against Bannurmutt in getting allotment of land at Judicial officers layout allegedly violating the land allotment rules, Gowda said, Government was supporting appointment of a person of state origin as Lokayukta.
