HYDERABAD: The CPM will not have any truck with TDP in the by-elections. This was amply made clear by party state secretary BV Raghavulu. “We do not consider TDP as one that subscribes to the agenda of Left parties. In our Kozhikode national conference, it was decided to strive for emergence of a third alternative by roping in parties whose ideology is akin to Left parties’ - Left and secular character.  We have decided that TDP does not fit in,” Raghavulu told reporters here on Thursday.Asked about its approach to poll alliances for the byelections for 18 assembly seats, Raghavulu said that it had already sounded CPI for striking a poll pact for some constituencies. “We have sought Anantapur, Payakaraopet, Tirupati and Polavaram. We are yet to hear hear from them,” he said.Asked what would be its approach for poll partnership in the wake of the TDP supporting a CPI candidate in Anantapur, Raghavulu said they would wait for CPI’s decision.
