New Delhi: Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi have agreed to play together in the Beijing Olympics. All the differences between the two players were resolved in a late night meeting on Monday.

"We have resolved our differences and we will play together. We will play one tournament before Wimbledon and Indianapolis Hardcourt tournament before Olympics," Bhupathi told CNN-IBN.

"We need to be in the best shape for Olympics and this is the right step," he added.

Paes had already made it clear that India's chances of winning a medal at the Beijing Olympics were "very bright" if he teamed up with Bhupathi.

"Look at our past record and the experience we have in the top doubles circuit. We have won so many titles together. We were also world No.1 at one point of time. We are more experienced than any other player on the circuit," Paes had told PTI in May.

"Our chances of winning medal at Beijing are very bright," he added.

In an oblique reference to Bhupathi's e-mail to the All India Tennis Association stating his preference to team up with Rohan Bopanna at Beijing, Paes had said, "There is no other team in India that stands a chance against me and Mahesh".

He added that he was looking forward to playing at the Beijing Olympics.

The relations between the two turned bitter after the Davis Cup tie against Uzbekistan earlier in the year when the entire team pitted itself against Paes asking him to be removed from the post of captain of the team.

After the Davis Cup tie against Japan, Bhupathi sent a mail to the Indian Olympic Association saying he would not pair with Paes for the Beijing Olympics.
