Pakistan hockey team gets 'delayed' Indian visa
The team will participate in the 17th All India Baba Faridkot Gold Hockey tournament.

New Delhi: The Pakistan Hockey team will participate in the 17th All India Baba Faridkot Gold Hockey Tournament starting on Friday.

The team was granted visa by the Indian High Commission despite late submission of required documents.

Pakistan play their first game on September 21 amd according to a high Commission official, the team will be able to reach India before that.

Earlier sme reports claimed that the team had been denied visa following the September 13 serial bomb blasts in Delhi.

Parampal Singh, vice president of Baba Farid Hockey Club, had said the Pakistani team would not participate in the tournament as the players were denied visas by the India High Commission.

Meanwhile, 13 national level hockey teams including defending champions Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala will be participating in the hockey tournament that gets underway at the Government Barjindera College Hockey Stadium.
