New Delhi: Pakistan police have identified the main attacker of 14-year-old teenage rights activist Malala Yousufzai. Atta Ullah Khan, a 23-year-old from the Swat is being accused of attacking Malala on the October 9. A search is still on for him.

Police have accused six persons, including his fiancée, mother and brother for facilitating the attack. Meanwhile, Malala continues to undergo treatment in a UK hospital. She was attacked for speaking out against the Taliban. Nine arrests have been made so far in the case.

Malala was flown to UK for specialised treatment, she continues to make steady progress and is in a stable condition, her doctors said

"Malala continues to make steady progress and is in a stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. "She has now been in the hospital for one week, under the care of a specialist team from both the Queen Elizabeth and Birmingham Children's hospitals. More than 4,000 messages of support have been posted on the Trust's website," the spokesperson of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital said in a statement.
