Mumbai: Actor-turned-director Amol Palekar says his new film Quest focuses on homosexuality.
“Basically, I’m exploring all the possible layers, angles and depths of a man-woman relationship. In Daira I had talked about the transverse search of a man-woman relationship. In Anahat I explored about the theme of female sexuality," he said.
"In Quest, it is the search of the protagonist (Mrenal Kulkarni) is shown who plays a lawyer in the film and is happily married until she discovers that her husband is involved in a homosexual relationship,” said Palekar.
He emphasized that in India, there was a tendency to not talk about issues like homosexuality openly. His way of dealing with things was to face them upfront, Palekar said.
He added he would be dealing with a multilayered issue in his movie as the wife grapples with whether she would have reacted differently if her husband was in an extramarital relationship with another woman.
