Severe waterlogging was witnessed in parts of Delhi on Thursday morning after the national capital and its adjoining areas received heavy rain during the early hours.
The waterlogging resulted in traffic snarls in several areas, including in Noida.
In August this year, Delhi recorded the highest rainfall in the last decade.
Weather and rainfall data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) suggested Delhi received 269.9 mm of rainfall until August 22, exceeding the previous high recorded in August 2013.
MORE RAIN ON FORECAST IN DELHI
According to the IMD, Delhi-NCR is likely to witness a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain on Thursday and Friday.
Similar weather would prevail until Tuesday next week, with rain and thunderstorms on September 2 and 3, the weather department said.
It also said the minimum temperature on Thursday was expected to be 23 degrees Celcius.
VIDEOS SHOW WATERLOGGING, TRAFFIC JAMS IN DELHI
Several videos on social media showed commuters wading through the waterlogged roads, and some underpasses were seen completely submerged.
A video from Shankar Vihar near Dhaula Kuan showed a waterlogged street.

Office goers and other commuters faced problems due to traffic jams after heavy rain.

Waterlogging was also witnessed on the Mehrauli-Badarpur Road in Delhi.
Visuals from the Tigri area showed heavy rain and waterlogging.

On Wednesday, Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region) received incessant rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
