Patient, ambulance driver die in accident

RAIRAKHOL: Two persons, including a patient, were crushed to death after an  ambulance of a private hospital met with an accident at Luhapank Chhack on NH-55 under Rairakhol police limits on Thursday morning. The deceased are the patient, Radheshyam Didwania (63), and ambulance driver Hemanta Pradhan (36) of Badamba. Six others sustained injuries in the accident.The ambulance met with the accident while it was shifting the patient to Bhubaneswar for better treatment facilities. Sources said Radheshyam, a resident of Jharsuguda had suffered a cardiac arrest, and his family members were travelling with him in the vehicle.The ambulance was behind a four-wheeler when a coal-laden truck rammed  the four-wheeler before hitting the ambulance. The seriously injured Gopal Singhania and Pushpa Didwania have been shifted to VSS Medical at Burla.
