The petrol pump dealers' strike that was expected to begin from Friday has been called off.

New Delhi: The petrol pump dealers' strike that was expected to begin from Friday has been called off.

The Federation of All India Petroleum Dealers Association on Thursday said that they had called off the strike following an assurance from Petroleum Minister Murli Deora that their demands are being considered.

The dealers were demanding the Government to raise the commission on sale of petrol and diesel to five per cent of the fuel price.

The federation has also demanded that no penal action be taken against dealers reporting higher losses beyond current permissable limits pending the submission of report by Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun.

The traders' body has demanded marker testing equipment to assess the quality of fuel supplied and the appointment of an appellate authority for the redressal of dealer complaints.
