Jaipur: Entire Rajasthan is under the grip of a blistering heat wave with mercury soaring to 46 degree Celsius in Phalodi on Thursday.
Mercury rose further due to dry weather conditions in the state and it ranged between 40.4 and 46 degree Celsius, MeT report said in Jaipur.
State capital Jaipur experienced another hot day with maximum temperature touching 43.6 degree Celsius.
Western region of Rajasthan covering Churu, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Srigangangar, Jaisalmer, and Barmer continued to be in the grip of blistering heat wave and dust-storm which affected normal life.
Churu recorded a maximum temperature of 45.5 degree Celsius followed by Kota 44.5, Sriganganagar 43.8, Bikaner 43, and Pilani 42.7 and Jodhpur 41.7 degree Celsius.
Weather would be mainly dry with minor fluctuations in mercury by a few notches in next 24 hours in the state, a forecast said.
