BANGALORE: The High Court on Friday disposed of the petition filed by Karnataka State Minorities Educational Institutions Managements Federation challenging a circular over teaching of Bhagavad Gita in schools.Justice S Abdul Nazeer disposed of the petition following state government’s clarification that the circular was issued stating that students who were interested in the Abhiyan could participate after the school hours without any compulsion. It also stated that the Abhiyan had already concluded on July 14.HC Issues Notice to GovtBANGALORE: The High Court on Friday issued a notice to the state government in connection with irregularities in BMS Institute of Technology and BMS College of Engineering in the city.A single bench headed by Justice Abdul Nazeer hearing the public interest litigation (PIL) petition observed that there were irregularities in the two colleges during admission and marks card and misuse of funds by the management, technical board and state government.He submitted to the court that the case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation.
