Police may launch probe into youths death

KOCHI: The Police are likely to launch a probe into the circumstances that led to the death of a youth who allegedly jumped into sea on seeing a police team. Police said that Mattanchery Assistant Commissioner was likely to order a probe into the incident. Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased have decided to lodge a complaint with the office of the City Police Commissioner in connection with the incident. It was on Friday late night that the youth identified as Dhaneesh, 21, of Beach Road,  allegedly jumped into sea to escape from police. The body was found floating in the sea on Saturday. Tense situation prevailed in the area.
