BANGALORE: The city received 10.6 mm of rain on Sunday, bringing much respite from the heat to the city-dwellers. The public had been complaining of the rising mercury level in the city in the past few weeks. Director of Bangalore Meteorological Centre, B Puttana said, “The condition is becoming favourable for the north-easterly monsoon winds. More rainfall along with a dip in mercury level is expected on Monday.” Heavy rains led to three trees being uprooted in Chamrajpet, Yeshwantpur and Vivek Nagar on Sunday evening. Bangalore Meteorological Centre has forecast a cloudy day on Monday with one or two spells of rain expected in some parts of the city.
