Rajeev Chandrashekhar condemns Anna arrest

BANGALORE: Rajya Sabha Member Rajeev Chandrashekhar has condemned the arrest of social activist Anna Hazare. In a statement, Rajeev said that people wanted a change in the way the government functioned and Anna Hazare is the symbol of this desire for change that the country was looking for.“The use of excessive force, coercion and a vicious propaganda and lies by the Centre are doomed to fail. These are the same politicians who tried to mislead the nation for the last eight months into believing there was no 2G Scam, Raja was innocent and no wrong had been done by Prime Minister until their lies were exposed by the Supreme Court and the CBI,” he said.Students skip meal at IIM-BAbout 1,000 students of the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIM-B) skipped a meal on Tuesday in protest against the arrest of civil society activist Anna Hazare in New Delhi and resolved to stage sit-in demonstrations everyday till the central government agrees to a strong Lokpal bill. The b-school’s academics dean Trilochan Sastri has pledged to skip a meal everyday until the government agreed to a strong Lokpal bill.Meanwhile, around 8,000 employees of companies located in Electronics City protested against the rampant corruption in the country.The focus was on solidarity while fighting against the corruption and the need to ensure a clean and corruption-free society.
